Principal’s Message

Welcome to the Leon High School, home of the ‘Lions’!

Leon is built on our legacy of “Tradition, Pride and Excellence”!  Established in 1936 we have the distinct honor of being the oldest established high school in the State of Florida.  Our roots are firmly entrenched throughout Tallahassee and the Leon County community.  We are proud to currently serve over 1850 students.

Leon High’s mission is to provide each student with an exceptional education and supportive learning environment.  Our students have so many opportunities to excel in academics, fine and performing arts, athletics and a vast variety of clubs and organizations.   Our goal is to provide a unique pathway for all students to be successful throughout their high school experience.  Students are encouraged to be active learners, strong leaders and meaningful contributors in our community.

‘Go Big Red’!!
